Bob Marley is an artist that needs no introduction. Known, loved and respected
throughout the world, Marley carries the torch of responsibility for taking
reggae music and the rastafari movement out of Jamaica and bringing it to a
worldwide audience. He is cited as being one of the most important, talented
and influential artists in history.



This new compilation brings together forty-five tracks, cut between 1968 and
1972, his pre-Island records days, representing Bob Marley & The Wailers at
what is widely regarded to be the pinnacle of their creativity as a unit.
Produced by Lee ôScratchö Perry, Leslie Kong and Johnny Nash & Danny Sims,
these sessions yielded the original versions of songs such as 400 Years, Small
Axe, Kaya and Satisfy My Soul, and if you only know them from the groupÆs later
work, these recordings will be a wonderful musical discovery. Compiled lovingly
by Lloyd Bradley renowned author of æBass Culture: When Reggae Was KingÆ and
also includes an extensive sleeve note by Lloyd.
